چکیده

The paper investigates the impact of different space vector modulation (SVM) techniques on the operation of ultrahigh speed induction machines (USIMs), where the mf frequency ratio is low owing to the necessarily high fundamental frequency f1. Three different sampling techniques, the Regular Sampled, Naturally Sampled and the Oversampled are studied by simulation. It is found that the SVM is proned to generate DC current in the stator windings. Furthermore subharmonic flux and current components with considerable amplitudes can also be generated in USIM. In the paper it is revealed that both the DC and the subharmonic components could lead to extremely large additional losses in the USIM enhanced by its special parameters. © 2012 IMACS. Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation with Reduced Common Mode Voltage and Current Losses for Six-Phase Induction Motor Drive with Three-Level Inverter

Common-mode voltage (CMV) generated by the inverter causes motor bearing failures in multiphase drives. On the other hand, presence of undesired z-component currents in six-phase induction machine (SPIM) leads to extra current losses and have to be considered in pulse width modulation (PWM) techniques. In this paper, it is shown that the presence of z-component currents and CMV in six phase driv...

Design and Performance Analysis of 7-Level Diode Clamped Multilevel Inverter Using Modified Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation Techniques

In this paper, a 7-level Diode Clamped Multilevel Inverter (DCMLI) is simulated with three different carrier PWM techniques. Here, Carrier based Sinusoidal Pulse Width Modulation (SPWM), Third Harmonic Injected Pulse Width Modulation (THIPWM) and Modified Carrier-Based Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation (SVPWM) are used as modulation strategies. These modulation strategies include Phase Dispos...

Comparison of MRAS Based Rotor Resistance Estimator Using Reactive Power and Flux Based Techniques for Space Vector PWM Inverter Fed Induction Motor Drives

The performance of Vector Controlled Induction Motor drive depends on the accuracy of rotor resistance which will vary with temperature and frequency. The MRAS approach using reactive power and flux as a state variable for rotor resistance estimation makes MRAS computationally simpler and easy to design. In this paper, Rotor Flux based MRAS (RF-MRAS) and Reactive Power based MRAS (RP-MRAS) for ...

Space Vector Modulation Technique to Reduce Leakage Current of a Transformerless Three-Phase Four-Leg Photovoltaic System

Photovoltaic systems integrated to the grid have received considerable attention around the world. They can be connected to the electrical grid via galvanic isolation (transformer) or without it (transformerless). Despite making galvanic isolation, low frequency transformer increases size, cost and losses. On the other hand, transformerless PV systems increase the leakage current (common-mode c...
